How did I customize my 2019 ford ecosport

How is it custom? Sorry for not knowing.

The modifications are the digital cluster instead of the analog one and cruise control. I think those are the only changes the person who posted this made.

@Jonathan
Yeah that’s about it. The cluster didn’t fit from the factory so I had to shave it down and make an adapter for the bolt holes.

What car is that instrument cluster from

It’s from a Ford Puma, Kuga/Escape, or Focus ST from Europe.

Looks really good

Did you also change the A/C control panel? That supports voice commands for A/C operations.

Yes it does! I thought it was one of the cooler features but most people don’t really think about it.

@Foster
Right.

Do you have any instructions on how to set up the cluster? It looks really nice

The actual cluster information plug on the back for the Ford Ecosport and the 2020+ Ford Explorer and Kuga are the same so it will power on without any modifications. To properly read and display information from the Ecosport, you’ll need to go into the ECU with something like Forscan and copy the as-built data for the IPC module before removing the stock cluster. Then plug in the new one, let it power on, and reconnect Forscan. When it asks if you want to use the pre-modification profile, decline and allow it to create a new profile because using the old one will brick your new cluster. After that, load the IPC data from the old cluster to the new one and press write. Restart your Ecosport and you’ll have a working digital gauge cluster. Don’t worry about the error codes before you rewrite the as-built data.

That’s great. Your dash is awesome.

Thanks! It took longer than I expected to install.

You’re welcome. I love how the screens glow. How do you update your Sync? I can’t get mine to update with the flash drive.

@Shiloh
Let me check on that. I don’t remember exactly. I do know that if you choose navigation on a head unit that didn’t originally have it, it won’t work.

I tried updating it through the menu and it always fails. I don’t want to pay them to update the maps and Sync for me.

@Shiloh
Ford won’t help with that. They refuse to. About the maps, if you didn’t have them before, you can’t upgrade since it’s a paid feature. I had it fail once before I got it right, and the only change I made to my USB installation was that I didn’t have maps.

@Foster
The only reason I know it’s not updated is that I was going somewhere using it and that location is no longer there.

I did everything from home.
