Hi everyone, I’ve been working on my 2016 Ford Ranger and ran into a persistent fault code: C0062:02 (Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor Fault). After a reset, the truck displayed multiple faults, most of which I’ve cleared, but this one keeps coming back. Here’s what I’ve done and some additional context:
Most faults were cleared using FORScan.
The ABS fault for the longitudinal acceleration sensor remains.
I’ve been advised to calibrate the sensor, likely under the ABS module.
Has anyone else dealt with this code? Any tips on calibrating the sensor using FORScan, or will I need a dealer tool to clear it? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
As a side note, I’m also dealing with a persistent passenger mat sensor fault. Disabling it in FORScan didn’t resolve the issue, and I have a replacement module on the way. Planning to upload the as-built data to see if it helps.
You’re on the right track with the calibration. FORScan can usually handle it if you know which module to access. It should be under the ABS module. Look for a service function like ‘Calibrate Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor.’
If FORScan doesn’t work for clearing the code, you might need to use a dealership-level tool like IDS. Some ABS faults are stubborn and require dealer software to reset.

Agreed. I had a similar issue, and IDS was the only thing that cleared it for good.
For the passenger mat sensor, uploading the as-built data to the new module should help. I had to replace mine, and reprogramming it resolved the fault completely.

Thanks for sharing that! I’m planning to do the same with a replacement module next week. Fingers crossed.
Just a thought: double-check the wiring and connectors for the acceleration sensor before diving into calibration. A loose connection can also throw that code.

Good call! I’ve seen a loose connector cause similar issues on another vehicle.
