Has anyone removed their beadlock beauty rings?

I took my beauty rings off to paint them. A couple of them turned out great, but the other three look bad, not sure why. I was thinking I’d have to sand all the paint off and get them powder coated, but now I’m actually kind of liking how they look without them. I don’t do extreme off-roading. Am I risking anything by leaving them off?

I’m almost thinking about just selling the rings once I get the paint off, but not sure if I should keep them just in case. Thoughts?

You can buy black beauty rings from Ford, though they are pricey.

I actually like them better without them too. Wasn’t sure you could do that? I wanted to powder coat mine too, but if I don’t need them, I might just take them off.

For sure! Everything I’ve read says they’re just cosmetic or maybe to prevent scraping the actual rims on curbs and rocks. Definitely better to save a few hundred bucks and still get a similar look.

@Gale
Well, thinking about it again, they’re really only there to protect the portion of the rim that could be used for a full beadlock, right?

I believe so, yes.

Thanks! I just bought some Baja Design pods for the A-Pillar. It’s too cold to install them right now :joy:

No way, dude! I’d love to see them once you get them on. I’ve only had my Bronco for a few weeks, so I’m still in the phase of looking for small mods.

From what I understand, they’re just cosmetic, so you should be fine without them.

I have those same wheels with color match beadlock rings, and I have to say, I think I like the look without them. Might be removing mine this spring.
