Can it tow like a Ranger? That’s a good question.

Ranger can tow around 7,500 lbs and the Everest, around 3,500 lbs. It makes sense.

I am surprised it can carry less than the Explorer with towing. I live in the USA, and I’ve never looked into the Everest.

It’s probably due to rules and regulations. I don’t see how this Ranger SUV can tow half what my Grand Cherokee can tow.
I wish these came to the USA. What do you think?

This won’t work due to the Bronco and Ranger. But, it would make a great Explorer replacement.

But, with a better engine. These things are gutless. The “upgraded” engine takes 9.3 seconds to get from 0-60. That’s like…mid 90s acceleration numbers for an SUV.
@mikey47
I agree. They only sell this engine in Panama. It takes a long time to get to 100 km/h (about 10-12 seconds).
@mikey47
I’m not even sure what engine is in it, but that’s bad. If the Everest came to the USA, it would share some of the same engines as the Bronco and Ranger. It would be cool to see a performance version. I think it would hurt Explorer sales.
@Ramsey
Considering gas prices, I’m sure fuel economy is a big deal, so people deal with the bad performance. I would buy one instead of my Explorer. I like my Explorer ST, but this would be perfect. I want something bigger, but not as big as the Expedition.
@mikey47
All diesel engines are like that. You are trading horsepower for torque.

I understand, but it’s still slow. Not all diesels are slow. It takes more than 10 seconds to get to 60 mph. That’s very slow.
@mikey47
In the Philippines, if it’s not the top Everest, the engine is a 2.0 single turbo. I have one. It’s still enough for our roads.
@mikey47
I don’t mind slow if it gets good gas mileage. Or it would be a great hybrid. Plenty room for a battery.
I wish the Explorer was a longer version of this with more capability. Is that a good idea?

People don’t want trucks. Making the explorer a truck would be stupid.

It would not. Expedition is a truck. The Bronco is a truck. What are you talking about?
@TheMostMasterfull
Do you know whyyyy? Because trucks don’t drive as well as the unibody, and people want a nice ride. They do not want an Everest.

I was upset the new Explorers are not trucks. I found a Nissan Pathfinder because it reminded me of the Explorers I had driven. Prices have gone up. You could find a short wheelbase Bronco or Blazer with a big back seat. Today’s cars, you end up sleeping in the driver’s seat because the back seat is small.
