Shoutout to the guy who pulled us out… even got featured on his Facebook live. It was a mix of fun and lessons learned
I got mine stuck with less than 600 miles on it. These things happen, and you just move on.

Same here, about 750 miles in. I got stuck in some mud pits outside Dallas for 3 days. Finally getting back on the road was the best feeling, but even now, 2 years later, I still find mud in some spots.
@Russell
Which mud pits? Was it Bridgeport? Let me know—I’m looking for new spots to explore! .

It was an off-road park in Irving called Star OHV. They closed it about a year ago. It was along the Trinity River floodplain, so it got really messy during spring and fall. I would’ve done better with a winch, but there were areas that were impossible without one. After that experience, I got a winch and put a 3.5" lift on my Wildtrak the next week.
@Russell
I got bogged down in a clay pit there too. Ended up meeting some nice folks with Toyotas who helped pull me out.

Yep, by day 3, a tough Tacoma and a Jeep fully built for mud helped me get through. Honestly, the Wildtrak impressed me overall, but that clay/mud mix is brutal. It really pushes your limits.
@Russell
I think I remember seeing your post about that.

That’s the one! Glad you made it out.
Good on you for using it for what it’s made for. I’m sure you picked up some lessons for next time!
I can’t judge. My first time off-road in my brand-new Jeep TJ, I got stuck in some dry mud ruts. It happens.
Whoops, that sounds rough .
At least you had some fun while learning.
What was your approach? Did you go fast, slow, use lockers, or 4L?

Not that fast, no lockers, and it was in 4H. We got a bit overconfident, haha.

Always use lockers for anything that wet. How did you get out?
@Grier
Looks like the strap on the back helped a lot.

Doesn’t look like it was working too well though.

The strap worked fine, actually. It wasn’t that bad, but we were definitely lucky. We’re not doing that again anytime soon, haha.
