I’ve been tracking my fuel efficiency since I got my 2018 hybrid and just hit an average of 40 mpg over its lifetime. Pretty excited about it. Anyone else hit any milestones recently?

That’s a solid setup, looks nice.

Thanks, I appreciate that .

I’ve only had my 2017 Energi for a few months. My lifetime mpg is showing 140, but it’s been dropping a bit since I had to deal with a coolant leak. My commute is about 30 miles one way, and I charge at work, but I’m curious to see how winter affects it.
Sharing my own setup

I get around 38 mpg on the highway with my 2018 hybrid, though I cruise at 79 mph most of the time.

Yeah, going above 75 mph definitely brings it down into the 30s for me too.
@Lyle
What engine do you have? I’m a bit puzzled why your mpg is that low. My 15-year-old Golf TDI with a performance tune still hits 50 mpg.
I’m at 28 mpg with my 2014 Ecoboost, but I drive it like a maniac most of the time.

That’s actually pretty decent considering how you drive.
My best so far was 40.5 mpg on my 2018 hybrid, but a recent highway trip brought it down to 39.8. It’ll probably take a month to bring it back up.

Why does it take so long? Just wondering how that works.
@Matthew
Because I don’t reset the lifetime average. It takes a while for consistent driving to raise it again.
If you want to keep your mpg high, check your tire pressure regularly, especially in the colder months.
I’ve never managed more than 38 mpg on my 2017 hybrid, but that’s still not bad.
I can get around 35 mpg on flat highways with my 2.5 engine, but it drops to 28-30 in hilly areas.

My 2019 2.5 does over 40 mpg on highways all the time. I’m currently on a long road trip, and even with snow and icy conditions, I’m averaging 36 mpg while carrying a lot of gear.
@Kimberly
Shows you don’t need a turbo or a tiny engine to get good mileage.
