Bought my first Mustang at 22, anyone else?

Got my first Mustang at 22! :camera_flash: Here’s a pic. It’s a 2023 GT Premium with just 1,000 miles, picked it up for 41k.

Congrats… keep that traction control on!

Good advice!

Definitely keep traction control on and look into better wheels and tires soon. These come with stiff 255s stock, especially with winter coming up. Don’t turn traction off until you get wider tires that can handle the power properly. I had the same issue and after upgrading, I can put down more power without the back end getting sketchy.

@Ford
What tire size did you go with?

I went with 285/35r20 in the front and 305/35r20 in the back, Michelin PS4S on HRE FF10 wheels.

@Ford
Exactly this!

Calling it ‘a little scary’ is an understatement! I’ve driven plenty of performance cars, and this one is under-tired from the factory. Just a slight gas tap in 3rd can get the back end sliding fast. It makes sense why some people end up losing control on these.

@Ford
They even sell some with 235 tires stock! With an automatic, it’s easier to downshift unexpectedly, which can cause more trouble than a manual would in the same situation.

Exactly! They really save money on tires. Auto or manual, though, you’ll run into trouble with the stock tires if you’re putting down too much power. It usually drops to 3rd, and that’s when the trouble starts.

@Ford
True, the 6-speed has tall gearing. The 255s are only a big problem once it gets really cold out.

@Ford
I can floor mine in 2nd or 3rd with some sway before traction control steps in. I’m on the staggered setup though.

How’s that financing treating you?

Not too bad… though insurance in New York is steep.

Bro, this Mustang’s gonna keep him broke :joy:

@Rain
Some of us can handle it… I’m 23 and manage payments and insurance just fine.

Looks awesome!

I’m jealous of that blue paint and red interior… nice ride!
