@Zabeen
I hope you’re right! But just a heads-up, Velocity is known for clickbait, so take it with a grain of salt.
@BellaCruiser
I used to be a reliability engineer for one of the big three car manufacturers. If you’re interested in reliability, the JD Power Initial Quality Survey (IQS) and Vehicle Dependability Survey (VDS) are good tools. They track issues at the 3-month and 3-year marks, and the two tend to correlate. If a vehicle scores well early on, it’s likely to be reliable long-term. It’s not foolproof, but it’s a good resource, though you won’t have that data right away for a brand-new model like the Maverick.
@Oakley
Thanks for the advice! I’ll look into those.
@BellaCruiser
I’m confident in the powertrain, especially the EcoBoost. And the hybrid setup is simple enough. I won’t be stressing about reliability too much.

If you add a zero to that, then it’s actually something to talk about!

Any new car should go at least 12k miles without issues. That should be the bare minimum.

Unfortunately, you’re right. I have high hopes, but 12k miles isn’t asking for much when it comes to reliability.

Actually, it was a Google search that led me to the video I mentioned in my original post about potential issues. That’s why I’m asking the community for their opinions and experiences, to get some updated, real-world info from people who own the truck. If you’re not interested in these threads, feel free to skip over them.
@BellaCruiser
There are a lot of bitter people in the Maverick forums for some reason. I think this is a valid topic, and more discussion is always good. Maybe folks are just frustrated waiting for their trucks to be delivered.
The hybrid electric powertrain is covered for 150k miles or 10 years by CARB if you live in California.

And it’s 8 years or 100k miles in other places. The technology’s been around a while and has proven reliable.
Building hybrids nowadays is like building a washing machine. Look at brands like Rivian, Fisker, Lucid, and Karma. The only thing holding them back is the price and the lack of history with the EV battery.
Mechanically, I think these trucks will be fine as long as they get basic maintenance. The issue will be the other stuff, like the interior and exterior. Since many are fleet vehicles, and they don’t get pampered, you’ll likely see a lot of worn-out interiors and peeling paint in a few years. That happens with any vehicle, but I think it’ll be more noticeable with the Maverick.
I had concerns too since it’s a first-gen model, but I got an extended warranty just to be safe.
