Anyone got their Ford Ecosport 1.0 fixed at the dealer and got it back?

This is the one with the oil pump drive belt recall. My mom just got hers back from the dealer, and they fixed the main issue. Now I’m wondering if it’s best to keep it or just trade it soon?

Got mine back and it’s running fine! I’m planning to keep it since it’s nearly paid off, and it basically has a new engine now.

Nice.

How’s the driving feel on your Ecosport after the fix? Does it feel like it did when you first got it?

I still have my original engine with over 35,000 miles on it. I’m watching to see if any issues pop up.

Last I heard, they were expecting to finish the recall around spring 2025. Did I miss any updates?

The parts to fix it should be coming in the first quarter of 2025.

Got mine back and sold it two weeks later.

Did they fully fix the main issue first? And then replace the engine?

Honestly, I’m not totally sure. I just knew it was fixed and decided to sell it.

Mine took 4 months to get back, and I’m considering trading it because I keep hearing it’s not the best car.

Are you expecting any more updates from them, like an engine replacement?

@Reagan
Yeah, they replaced the engine. But when I drive, it doesn’t feel smooth at all. I don’t know much about cars, so it’s hard to explain. But when I accelerate, it just doesn’t feel like a smooth shift.

@Hollis
That uneven feel might end up happening with my mom’s Ecosport too once they replace the engine next year.

I got mine back yesterday. So far, so good, but I’m still undecided on whether I want to keep it.

Update: My mom’s Ford Ecosport came back from the dealership today. They handled the main issue, and it’s now good to go up to 162,000 miles. We’re just waiting on a notification letter from Ford for an engine replacement appointment next year. Hoping they’ll be putting in a new engine.
