3 inch leveling kit F150

I’m thinking about trying a 3-inch leveling kit on my 2016 F-150. Are there any issues with going bigger than the 2.5-inch kit? What do you all recommend?

I’d be surprised if anyone thinks it’s a good idea. 2.5 inches is already pushing it. Personally, I wouldn’t go over 2 inches.

I have a 1.5-inch kit with 33-inch tires. There’s no rubbing, it has good height, and I haven’t had any problems.

I have a Motifab lift in 2.5, and I think it’s putting a lot of stress on some suspension parts, like the ball joint.

Honestly, I find it funny how many people use leveling kits as a cheap way to lift their trucks.

The main purpose of a leveling kit is to reduce the factory rake and make the truck more level. If you go beyond that, you might run into problems.

I used a 1.5" kit in the front and changed the rear blocks to 2" instead of the 1 3/8" factory blocks. This helped reduce the rake to about 1/2" instead of making the front look high.

I’m not an expert, but I feel pretty sure that if you want your truck lifted, you should get a lift kit. If not, just use the smallest leveling kit to keep your truck’s suspension as close to stock as possible. You’ll have a better experience in the long run that way.

It’s just as funny as the guys who get lift kits and say it makes their truck better for off-roading.

I chose the RC 2.5" spacer (which actually gives a lift of only 2"), and I think that’s the most I would recommend. My truck drives like it did before, but I plan to replace the spacers with a full Boss Coilover kit soon for better performance.

OP, don’t go with a 3" lift. I’ve never seen a 3" leveling kit work out well (unless it’s a coilover with new upper control arms).

I have a 2016 XLT 4x4 with a 5.0 engine, and I want to tow my camper (which weighs 5,875 pounds and has a hitch weight of 715 pounds) and also put my Teryx in the truck bed (which weighs about 1,500 pounds). I think I should install load-leveling shocks, but I’m not sure which brand or model to choose. I’d appreciate any thoughts or recommendations!

I installed one of these add-a-leaf kits because I often haul and tow with my truck. I’m happy with the results; it lifts the back by about 1.5 to 2 inches. However, this makes the back higher than the front when the truck is empty and I have a 2-inch leveling spacer in the front.

Does anyone make a 1" spacer? I use my truck to haul feed to my ranch, so I need to keep some rake. I also tow my Jeep to the mountains.

I searched for a 1" spacer, expecting to find a lot of options. But I couldn’t find any, just like you. What about a 1 1/2"?

I have the Halo coilover set at 2.75 inches. I didn’t change the back but will probably add a 1" block or a leaf spring because I like a little bit of rake. I also added BDS upper control arms while I was at it. So far, I haven’t had any issues, and I have room for bigger tires if I want. This is a topic that’s debated a lot here. Right now, I have 295/70/18 tires.
