It’s a Polestar 2 on stilts
It looks like legos interpretation of a SAAB
We need to go back to old designs. They’ve perfected the automobile design already
It may very well be a good car. But it isn’t a Capri.

I mean…it is the sportiest non-import vehicle they currently have (excluding the outgoing Focus ST), and the designers tried to approximate the old Capri silhouette as good as possible on a SUV-sized car (rounded side window, the black bar betwen the headlights, the black lower part etc.)
Ford just does not want to do cars any more because “customers want SUVs”.

its an annoying self-fulfilling prophecy. people will have to buy suvs when thats all there is.

If sedans, coupes and wagons sold, they would make them. Sure, there’s a group of people who dislike SUV’s - but they are vastly outnumbered by those who prefer them. Turns out most people like to have a higher up driving position than a traditional car can offer.

The volumes for sedans, coupes and wagons are not high enough to sustain profitability. Breaks my heart but that’s the fact of the matter.
I remember the old (European) Capri, the Mercury (Mustang) Capri, and the (Australian built) 2-seater Capri. All of them made it to the US. Will this one? Or will it be another cool Ford the US is destined to not get?

Unlike the others, this isn’t a cool Ford

Honestly, nothing new really appeals to me. There are 5 vehicles in my household, and the newest ones are both 2008s. Compared to other new vehicles, it looks pretty cool to me.
Looks nice, wouldn’t mind having one myself.
I think it’s kind of sad for Ford to try to resurrect a classic vehicle name with this crap. They made a similar mistake with the Mustang and that disgusting electric pile of shit “thing”. I’ve owned 14 Fords and I walked away when they chose to stop building cars (at least here in the US) to concentrate on trucks and suvs… Maybe its just me but I think Ford has lost their way.
Name aside (because that’s been complained about enough), and shape aside (because that’s been complained about enough too), this looks like an alright vehicle.
