I was driving to work when the ‘Low Engine Oil Pressure’ light came on. I was close to work, so I kept going without thinking, especially since I had just gotten an oil change a couple of weeks ago. After work, I checked the oil to be sure, and it was at the right level. I thought I could drive it to the dealership, but after 2 minutes, it stopped completely. The battery and check engine lights came on before it died. I also replaced the battery recently. It got towed to the dealership, but they won’t be able to check it until later this week. Could this be part of the recall?
This is definitely part of the recall.
Yes, this happened to me too with my 2020 Ford Escape. You should demand a rental car while they fix it. Ford sent a letter to dealerships on October 24, 2024, about how they should handle this. Make sure they take pictures of the issue.
@Tyler
Check the back of your car. It might say Ecoboost, or you can look at the paperwork for the Ecoboost 1.0 engine. That will tell you if your engine is part of the recall.

They said they need to take pictures to send to Ford to confirm it’s part of the recall. After that, I can get a rental car, but I’m not sure if I’m eligible because I’m under 21.
@Alaric
They should know what the issue is. The service team should diagnose the part causing the problem. If it’s the oil belt, it’s definitely the recall, provided you have the 1.0 Ecoboost engine.
@Alaric
Tell them to offer you a dealership loaner car then.
Which variant and engine do you have?

I’m not sure. How can I check that?

What fuel do you use in your Ecosport?

Regular, 89.
@Alaric
Just kidding, it’s 87.

You can find your VIN on your purchase or insurance paperwork. You can use that to figure out what engine you have.
@FordMaster
Your VIN is also on the bottom of the windshield on the driver’s side.
Copy your VIN and check it on the Ford Service website. That should give you the info you need.

Or you could try the NHTSA website.

I did that, and it said it’s part of the recall.
We got our oil changed 3 days before ours broke down. It happened on the highway, and it scared us badly. But yes, this issue is part of the recall. You couldn’t have done anything to prevent it.
If you have the FordPass app, it will tell you if your car is affected by the recall.
We have this issue in India too with the 1.5L Dragon engine (non-turbo). But Ford here is not offering any help.
